Week 15: The Tech Pebble is now Yours, Grasshoppers!

I wonder what all of you think as you come to the last class.  I imagine that you had no idea how much work could be crammed into an undergrad tech course. . .I'll excuse the occasional curse muttered in my general area :^D What I also hope is that you are now much more confident with not only your use of technology, but that you might eventually become that type of teacher who seamlessly integrates technology into your curriculum. . .Kids dig it!!

Tonight:  I want you to have at least one peer check of your iMovie and emerging tech assignments, and then you will submit your checklists for me to enter your grades.
Also, the evaluations for this course are completed electronically. . .you should have received an email to your cougar email that contains the evaluation for the course.  I would greatly appreciate your feedback, as would the university.  Also, in the name of web 2.0 and social-everything, there is a site called ratemyprofessors where you can evaluate your professors for your peers and future students to see.  This is a great way to find out how other students feel about your current and future professors.

TaskStream:  Before you leave this evening, I would like to see that you have responded to your feedback in GoogleDocs for your TaskStream narratives and that they are edited and placed in TaskStream!!  If this is not competed, you and I will work on them for the remainder of the course (and when I say, "you and I," I mean you ;-)

That would be the end
Last Question:  What is the best thing that you will take away from this course?

  1. I will take away the fact that I worked really hard to earn the grade I did and will reflect on everything I accomplished and do my best to use the technology I learned, in my classroom

  3. What I will remember most from this class is how easy it is to incorporate technology in the classroom. Actually using technology makes lesson plans more fun and tests students knowledge of information more, so I am all for using tech in the classroom :)

  4. I will take away something I can picture myself using such as newsletters, blogs, and a deeper understanding of how important technology integration into curriculm is for students. I also am coming away with how to do many new things involving technology but may not ever use especially working with little ones :) (they not being able to use tools such as iMovie)

  5. I know am aware of how I can use technology in many different ways in order to teach. I think that I will now consider other ways of giving assignments and tests than just the traditional way. I also want to create a newsletter and blog for my future classes and incorporate these fun tools to make my class more connected and engaged,

  14. Google Docs. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Having it under my belt as a tool truly revolutionizes my entire work ethic and study style.

  15. Wow where do start from making my own blog for my next years class to making a wiki's page. I know that IMOVIE projects are on the way. Every teacher at my school site is digging Delicious and loving it. Cloud computing makes collaborative group work a breeze and allows teachers to go and relax instead of having meetings where only a little gets done.

  19. I think the number one thing I will take away from this class is my new found ability to work through digital tools. This class has taught me to be resourceful and solve problems on my own to the best of my ability. If nothing else I have learned more about working with a Mac operating system than I have in the last twenty years of my life.

Thank you for a great and informative semester

  27. Geez, I liked everything....but I guess as a teacher (to be) I liked the CSUSM Web 2.0 Tools for Education because not only are their links to really cool tools but also a description, example and links. This will be very useful once I'm in the field.

  32. I learned a lot as did everyone else but the most imortant thing I will take away is the value of teaching the use of technology to a classroom of kids. It is amazingly valuable and kids really love it and would love to learn it better. I also really liked my last Journal about the student that taught his teacher how to make a better wiki for the class. We should never be too proud to learn from kids! Also, and my son was surprised I had a blog!
