Week 6: Take a Deep Breath. . .Now TaskScream!!

Many of you might be feeling like you will never catch up. . .but trust me you will.  There is a lot of work to do in this class, but the more comfortable you feel on the computer and using web-based tools, the easier it will get.  If you are completely frustrated, please see to make an appointment for some One on One or small group support. . .With a class of 30, we will sometimes move at what might appear to be a fast pace, but the pace is necessary to get us through all we need to do. . .but there is help. . .if you ask.

Tonight we will revisit the TaskStream narratives, learn how to put some things on your blog visually, like your Newsletter & Delicious tag cloud (emerging tech), and discuss the PowerPoint assignment.

Journal 5:  Remember this is extra credit. . .if you wish to complete this journal, you can search the L&L past issues and use an article of your choosing. . .don't forget to use the Citatioin Machine to give your articles proper citation. . .You are welcome to use another online journal, but ensure you use the proper citation and that the article is about technology in education.
We will begin the Journals 6-10 Assignment on March 11.

  3. I'm actually not too cultured. I know the basics like the Mona Lisa and all that jazz, but I don't really know if I have a favorite painting. But I'm with Chelsea on the whole architecture deal. Skyscrapers and bridges amaze me. I haven't been to San Francisco, but I would love to see the Golden Gate Bridge. But as for pieces of work that I have seen, the architecture at Balboa park are pretty breakthaking.

  22. My favorite piece of rt is actually the same as our professors. I also saw Picasso's Gurenica in Madrid, Spain. It is an amazing piece which was first shown to the world at the world peace conference. Gurenica is a Spanish city which was bombed by the ruling Spanish government at the time. Picasso used his work to uncover a social injustice.

  25. My favorite artwork is anything by Thomas Kinkade because they remind me of going to my grandparens house as a kid. All of his paintings have hidden letters in them (I believe the letter "n" for his wife's first initial) and I used to love to be the first grandchild to find all the hidden letters in his paintings!

  27. Well I really like to "Look" at all kinds of art, but the peiace that stands out ti me is "Starry Nights" by Vincent Van Gogh. I like this painting because it reminds me of the nights I used to spend out looking at the stars at summer camp, away from the city. The one thing about this picture is that the stars are so bright in the city, I sometimes wish we could see the stars so clearly here in the city.

I was lucky to meet her twice at the Open Studios Artists' Tour when we lived in Lamorinda, up north. Since I last saw her work probably ten years ago, it is way cool to be able to use the computer to see what she's been up to.

  38. My favorite painting is one of the many Biblical stories painted by Michael Angelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City Rome, Italy. The one that I like the most is called "The Creation of Adam" because I love the fingers touching of God the creator from heaven to Adam his creation on earth. Angelo's talent is remarkable and I love his style of painting.
